Target Black Friday 2021 – What to Expect

Updated November 12th, 2021:

Target has confirmed this year’s Black Friday dates, and as expected, there will be four such sales, as you can see below:

  • Black Friday Ad #1: Oct. 31-Nov. 6, 2021.
  • Black Friday Ad #2: November 7-13, 2021.
  • Black Friday Ad #3: November 14-20, 2021.
  • Black Friday Ad #4: November 21-27, 2021.

The advertised doorbuster specials are available while supplies last, so it is best to act fast if you’re interested in a particular product. Make sure to check the ads we’ve posted and stay tuned as we will update our pages when new ads are released.

As one of the largest retailers in the U.S., Target offers a wide variety of products and some of the greatest Black Friday discounts. While we’re still a few weeks away from this year’s big sale event, we can get a better idea of what the event will bring by considering what happened last year and the currently available information.

Target Black Friday 2021 – Expected Start and End Dates

In the last few years, Target typically rolled out its Black Friday deals on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, with Target RedCard credit cardholders benefitting from early 24-hour access. In 2020, things changed due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the retailer ran four separate events instead of one big Black Friday event.

Given that things haven’t changed much and the pandemic is still here, we might see a similar approach this year as well. So here is what we expect to see happening:

Black Friday Event #1: November 1-7, 2021.

Black Friday Event #2: November 8-14, 2021.

Black Friday Event #3: November 15-21, 2021.

Black Friday Event #4: November 22-27, 2021.

However, this is just our prediction based on last year’s event. We will update this page, though, when official details are available. What we know now is that Target’s brick-and-mortar stores will be shut on Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 25th) but will open on Friday, November 26th.

In 2020, the Target Black Friday ad was released on Friday, November 6th. If the retailer embraces the same approach, we expect this year’s ad to be released on Friday, November 5th. Find below the first page of last year’s ad.

What Deals to Expect

Target has become popular for a variety of reasons, and one of them is the rich selection of products it offers. The fact that its Black Friday ad includes tens of pages is thus no surprise. The ad typically includes discounts on all major product categories available at Target. Considering what was discounted last year, here is what we expect in terms of products at reduced prices.

  • Smartphones – such products are typically at the front and center of Black Friday, and this year is unlikely to be an exception. So we expect to see price drops on Samsung phones, iPhones, and other similar products.
  • Televisions – these products are also among the most sought-after categories during big sale events such as Black Friday, and last year’s big sale featured some noteworthy discounts on TVs from different brands. For example, in 2020, the Samsung Smart UHD HDR 50” was available for only $329.99, while the 60” version was discounted to $479.99. Therefore, we might see something similar this year.
  • Home cleaning products and appliances – we can’t imagine Target’s Black Friday without discounts on home products such as vacuums and kitchen appliances, so if the retailer is to follow a similar approach, these types of items will be included in the big sale.
  • Toys and games – last year’s Black Friday ad featured price cuts on a variety of toys and games as well. For example, select games and puzzles were discounted by 50%. Since the event is not far from Christmas, such discounts only make sense, and thus, we expect to see them during this year’s sale as well.

These are just some of the most important categories that are typically included in Target’s Black Friday deals, and other types of products, such as books and phone accessories, are also likely to go on sale.
