The holiday season is just around the corner, but you don’t have to wait long to start saving on your needs. Amazon’s Prime Day is one of the best times to save on the various items you need. The retailer’s sale has become one of the most sought-after events, bringing limited-time deals on selected merchandise and offers that can save you hundreds of dollars. So, here is what you need to know about Amazon Prime Day in general and what this year’s second event is expected to come with.
What Is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a sale held by the giant retailer that usually lasts for a couple of days and includes offers available exclusively to Amazon Prime members. What’s great is that the deals are available to both new and existing Prime members.
So, in order to benefit from the Amazon Prime deals, an Amazon Prime membership is required, but thanks to the 30-day free trial, you can take advantage of the price drops offered and cancel it should you feel like doing so before the trial ends.
The standard Amazon Prime membership is $14.99 per month. The one-year subscription is more convenient, though, as it’s $139. Amazon also offers a Prime Student membership for $69 a year, and Prime is just $6.99/month for EBT and select government assistance recipients.
However, the benefits of Prime members are not limited only to the offers included in the retailer’s Prime event. As a Prime member, you can also benefit from free delivery on millions of products, streaming and entertainment exclusives, and free unlimited photo storage and 5 GB for video with Amazon Photos.
The annual event is typically held once a year, in July. For example, the 2022 edition lasted from Tuesday, July 12th through Wednesday, July 13th. Still, in 2020, due to the pandemic, Amazon held Prime Day in October.
Still, it is best to keep an eye on the retailer’s offers before the actual sale, as it may release early access deals on select items. This usually happens to let Prime members get a glimpse of what the event will bring in terms of discounts and fast action is required as these early offers last for a limited time.
How Much You Can Save With Amazon Prime Deals
During the 48-hour sale, Prime members have the chance to save on a variety of products, including, but not limited to, clothing, appliances, headphones, home items, laptops, robot vacuums, TVs, toys, and air fryers, to name a few.
The sale features some of the greatest deals seen at this retailer, and products from several categories are included so that all shoppers can find something of interest on sale. The event brings Black Friday-level deals, with select items being discounted by up to 80%.
