Veterans Day is a federal holiday held in the U.S. on November 11th. It honors and celebrates all U.S. military veterans. Several retailers also take part in this holiday, and to show their gratitude and appreciation for the courage, efforts, and sacrifices of military veterans, they offer different discounts and deals. Those who typically benefit from such offers include former military personnel, reservists, active-duty members, and families of the Armed Forces.
Such discounts apply to a variety of products and services that range from clothing to travel. Keep in mind, though, that in most, if not all, cases, the retailer offering the discounts will require eligible shoppers to fill out an application online or present a military ID.
Some stores may require military veterans to prove their military affiliation through a third-party program, such as SheerID or ID.me. Since this varies from retailer to retailer, it is best to check the store’s policy before your shopping session. Academy Sports + Outdoors – from October 22nd through November 12th, the military and first responders benefit from 10% off their entire purchase online or in-store.
