5 Shopping Hacks to Save at Amazon No Matter the Time of Year

Offering one of the largest product selections online, Amazon has become the go-to e-store for shoppers worldwide. Its offer ranges from everyday essentials to electronics so that all customers can find something of interest. Amazon doesn’t run short when it comes to deals either, and discounts are not available only during major sales events. On the contrary, you can save when shopping at Amazon regardless of the time of year, and that’s what we cover in today’s post.

Major sales events such as Amazon Prime Days and Amazon Black Friday are among the most well-known opportunities to save when shopping at this retailer, but they are not the only ones. Plus, they only run a few times a year for a few days. Thankfully, offers and discounts are available throughout the year at Amazon. However, some of them are not that visible or advertised on the retailer’s homepage, but they are rather hidden in different sections. So here are a few hacks to help you find and enjoy deals every day.

1. Amazon Renewed

If you don’t mind purchasing refurbished, pre-owned, and open-box products, then the retailer’s Amazon Renewed section is a good place to start your future shopping sessions. You can find this section under Programs & Features -> Amazon Second Chance -> Shop pre-owned items -> Amazon Renewed. You can also find offers in the Renewed Deals subsection under Today’s Deals.

The Amazon Renewed department includes deals on like-new refurbished, pre-owned, and open-box items such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, cameras, audio devices, and home appliances. Each product undergoes professional inspection and testing to ensure it functions and looks like new. With the Amazon Renewed Guarantee, you can shop confidently and save on your favorite brands.

Plus, the department is designed in such a way as to make it easy for you to find the products of interest. You can refine your search by product category, brand, price, delivery day, and other characteristics.

2. Pre-Owned Amazon Devices

If you’re interested in an Amazon device, but you’re also a budget-minded shopper, you might want to check out the Pre-Owned Amazon Devices department under Amazon Second Chance. This section includes Certified Refurbished Amazon devices that work and look like new, such as Kindle e-readers, smart home security devices, Fire tablets, and Alexa devices.

You can shop by product type, price, discount, and average customer review. Given that at the time of writing, pre-owned Amazon devices are up to 44% off, it is worth visiting this subsection the next time you’re interested in purchasing such a product.

3. Amazon Coupons

Despite the retailer’s popularity, Amazon coupons may not be that well-known among shoppers. One reason why that is so may be that they aren’t advertised on the homepage, but they are included in the Coupons section under Today’s Deals. Thankfully, they come in plenty. Amazon coupons can help you save up to 50% or a few hundred dollars on select items. Plus, they usually cover products from several categories.

For instance, when we were doing our research, this section featured hundreds of coupons on products such as health and personal care, electronics, beauty items, groceries, home and kitchen products, fashion, pet supplies, sporting goods, and outdoor items, to name a few. Therefore, you will typically find a great variety of coupons to choose from.

You can browse the available coupons by product category, most popular coupons, and Prime exclusive coupons. Once you find a coupon you’d like to use, just hit the “Clip Coupon” button and the discount will be applied at checkout.

4. Amazon Warehouse

Under Today’s Deals, you will also find the Amazon Warehouse section, which provides another simple way to save on your needs. This category is pretty similar to the Amazon Renewed department, as it also features deals on used, pre-owned, or open-box products. However, the e-store has a dedicated section for Amazon Warehouse deals.

To help you make an informed decision, Amazon uses detailed descriptions to help you better understand the item’s condition by describing its appearance, functional qualities, accessories, and packaging condition. Depending on the product’s condition, you will find that some items have even deeper discounts. You may find price drops of up to 60% on select products, which makes this section worth a visit the next time you shop on a budget.

Amazon Warehouse items are classified as follows: Like New, Very Good, Good, and Acceptable. Make sure to read the retailer’s dedicated page for more on what each of these classifications means. Since these are used, pre-owned, or open-box products, the future availability for any specific item cannot be predicted, so check back often and order quickly when you find an item that meets your needs and budget.

5. Color-Related Deals

When it comes to shoes and fashion items, there are many deals available at Amazon. The apparel and shoes section even includes a subsection called Sales & Deals, where you can often find discounts on selected merchandise. Another simple way to see if you can get an item at a steeper discount is by checking the product’s available colors, as some of them may come with a greater price cut.

What’s great is that such price drops are also available for other product categories, such as phone cases, speakers, and many items that are usually available in different colors. To help you get an idea of how much you can save, at the time of writing, the women’s The Drop Greta Fitted Square-Neck Halter Sweater Bralette Pink was 40% off and available for only $17.94 (original price: $29.90). This discount applied to the pink model and a few other colors, therefore, it is worth checking this aspect as well the next time you shop.

As you can see, you don’t have to wait for a major sales event to save at Amazon. While some deals are visible on the e-store’s homepage, others are somewhat hidden and included in the dedicated sections mentioned above. If you’re on a budget or simply don’t want to pay full price, visiting these sections can help you save even further.
